Validation completion for the Initial Version of the “SeaHealth” Platform.

The original version of the SeaHealth online platform has been completed. The validation of the platform and the courses was carried out by a team of Seafarers from DANAOS. The process was coordinated by the crew manager of DANAOS and the head of the company’s training center. The validation lasted 3 months and was carried out in parts following the order of completion of the course content. The team consisted of seafarers of all ranks with rich experience from years of service on ships of all types.

The purpose of the first validation of the original version of the platform was to test and evaluate its use by potential users. The Seafarers, after attending the relevant courses, through the completion of questionnaires assessed the completeness of the training material and the user-friendliness of the platform. Useful conclusions were collected and recorded to form a basis for corrections and improvements for the development of the final version.

The development of the second and final version of the platform will be followed by a complete second round of validation from a multi-member team of seafarers of all specialties and ranks. The complete final evaluation by the users will determine the commercial readiness and market dynamics of the Seahealth platform.

The research project “Elearning platform for Seafarers for first aid and health issues”- SeaHealth (Υγεία εν πλω) through the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation under the call RESEARCH –CREATE –INNOVATE, is implemented by SQLearn and Danaos Shipping in collaboration with the 1st Otolaryngology Clinic of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UOA).
